Never Go On a Very Low Calorie Diet, It Can Make You Fat.

Very Low Calorie Diet

Did you know that Very Low Calorie Diets can make you fat!

Sounds impossible, I know I thought so too at first, but really this is a scientifically accurate.

Research in weight loss physiology and statistics on diet relapse and weight gain demonstrates this every time.

Here is what happens: You WILL lose weight (and sometimes FAST), on a very low calorie diet.

And that’s Good, Right?

The trouble is, you will only lose fat in the beginning.
In the long term, you set yourself up hormonally and metabolically to:

  1. Slow down your metabolism (so fat loss is even more difficult the next time)
  2. Hit a fat loss plateau
  3. Regain all the weight
  4. Damage your health due to nutritional deficiency

And The Worst Low Calorie Diet Side Effect Of All,

5. Your Very Low Calorie Diet cannibalizes (consumes) your own muscle tissue, your body does this when your body goes into starvation mode do to lack of calories to protect your bodies energy reserves (that = stored fat).

After a While a Very Low Calorie Diet a often leaves you a ‘SKINNY FAT PERSON’, which is someone with a low body weight and low level of lean body mass (muscle) that still has a relatively high body fat percentage.

To get rid of body fat, you have to consume fewer calories than you burn, Right!

Here’s the problem, the fatal flaw in most popular diet programs is that the calorie deficit is way too aggressive or too extreme and your low calorie diet is not accompanied by the right type of exercise training (this helps your body to keep the lean muscle and helps you avoid becoming a “skinny fat person”).

Have you ever been told that to get a lean body you had to eat 1200 calories a day or 900 calories a day or even less?

Did you ever just get FED UP with no results and say to yourself,

“That’s it, I’m hardly going to eat Anything,”

because you were desperate to lose the weight as fast as possible?

This will work in the beginning, because there’s a HUGE calorie deficit at first, but there is also a HUGE Problem.

When you go on a very low calorie diet, eventually,

You begin a low calorie diet at your body and you lose some weight in the beginning.

But, then your body figures out what’s going on.

Your body thinks you are under attack!

Your body thinks you are about to starve to death!

When your do something extreme on your body (like hardly eating), your metabolic rate slows down in order to protect you.

This “defense mechanism” is often called, “starvation mode.”

(Avoid This At All Costs)

When your body goes into starvation mode, your fat burning hormones crash.

Then your bodies fat cells release less of the “anti-starvation hormone” leptin, your body releases fewer fat-releasing and fat-burning enzymes such as hormone sensitive lipase and lipoprotein lipase.

You will then lose lean body mass, your hypothalamus in your brain turns up the appetite switch and your body fiercely defends for survival by holding on to the last 10 pounds or so of fat with all its might!

Then You’re SCREWED!

Any program that is extremely low in calories may work in the short term, but the “honeymoon” never lasts for long.

In the long run, very low calorie diets can actually make you fatter.

Eventually, this will lead to binge eating and weight re-gain and you end up with less muscle and a slower metabolism than when you started.

Sounds familiar?

If so, aren’t you finally ready for something else?

There is a better way to achieve permanent fat loss than very low calorie dieting.

You DON’T have to starve yourself on very low calorie diets to get a lean body.

You can eat more and burn more fat.

In fact, That IS “THE SECRET.”
Eat more, burn more.

Starvation Dieting is the WORST way to lose body fat!

Proper nutrition (taking in plenty of food to feed the muscle), combined with strength training (to build the muscle), and cardio training (to burn the fat) is the BEST way to lose body fat and keep it off.
